PEZZI SPECIALI

SCHROEDER, HERMANN
With over 100 organ works, numerous masses and motets, Hermann Schroeder (1904 -1984) is one of the most significant German composers of church music of the 20th Century. Schroeder, who taught for many years at the Cologne Academy of M usic, wrote these previously unpublished Pezzi speciali in 1983. As the title suggests, these are mood pieces where the varying tempi and techniques employe d give each movement its particular individual character. This cycle is suitab le for performance in concerts of organ music, though the movements may also b e used individually within church services.
