STILL SMALL VOICE (W/ORGAN)

JACKSON, ROBERT
WALTERS, STEPHEN
With a line from John Greenleaf Whittier’s “Dear Lord and Father of Mankind” a s his inspiration, “Speak through the earthquake, wind, and fire, O still, sma ll voice of calm!,” Mr. Walters has composed an art-filled and glorious collec tion of familiar hymn melodies associated with those meditative, quiet musical moments of the worship service. Adding a special musical layer of calm, hushe d serenity, is the opportunity for a beginning instrumentalist to add its tend er voice. The included parts are variously keyed in treble and bass C, B-flat, and Horn in F. The instrumental parts are doubled in the organ to lend suppor t for beginning instrumentalists, but are clearly bracketed and may be omitted at the discretion of the organist. This collection offers a wonderful opportu nity for a budding instrumentalist to enjoy a successful premiere as a soloist .
